Acute pancreatitis has rarely been reported to occur as a complication of typhoid fever. Bacteriologically proven case of typhoid fever has not been reported in Korean literature. In spite of intensive chemotheraphy with sensi tive antibiotics, the clinical course was protracted, and his body temperature and amylase level remain elevated for 3 weeks. At the end of 3 weeks, as fever, dropped, amylase level in the blood and urine carie down.
When patient witj typhoid fever - accompanies clinical features of acute abdomen, it is suggested that a-possibility of acute pancreatitis should be
investigated.
